Aidan Christie KC‘s position as Chair of the Independent Decision-making Body (IDB), has come to a close after 8 years of participation on the IDB and its predecessor, the Professional Conduct Committee (PCC).

Aidan was appointed a member of the Board of the BSB in October 2015 and Chair of the PCC at the same time before becoming Chair of the IDB when it was established in October 2019. Prior to this he had been a member of the PCC from 2011 and vice-chair since 2014. He left the Board of the BSB in October 2019.

As Chair of the PCC he had overall responsibility for all complaints and enforcement action against barristers pursuant to the BSB Handbook, up to the stage of referral to the Disciplinary Tribunal.
