Gideon Shirazi will be speaking at the SCL Junior Lawyers’ Group seminar covering Limitation Clauses, part of a series of Junior SCL events looking at topics often at the heart of an IT lawyer’s practice.

The event will be split into two parts. In the first half, Gideon will give a summary of the principles underlying limitation and exclusion clauses, including the impact of recent trends in interpreting contracts and the application of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. Chris Hill of Kemp Little will then discuss how this works in practice when drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.

In the second half, attendees will have the opportunity to test their knowledge and negotiation skills by giving instructions to Chris, Gideon and Michael Butterworth also of Kemp Little, who will run a mock negotiation between customers and suppliers over the structure and wording of exclusion and limitation clauses in a number of commercial scenarios.

Venue: Kemp Little LLP

Time: 5.00-7.00pm
