Next Gen Series: Insurance Seminar – Wednesday 4 November
Martyn Naylor and Elliott Cook will address the ever-thorny issue of limitation in the context of insurance claims. The topics which will be covered include:
- A general refresher on limitation periods in contract and tort claims, relevant to all commercial practitioners.
- The particular limitation perils and pitfalls likely to arise in relation to insurance claims, whether such claims are brought under first party indemnity or third party liability policies, and how to avoid them.
- A review of significant case law on limitation and insurance claims, including the relatively recent High Court decision in Mode Management Ltd v. AXA Insurance UK plc [2025] EWHC 2035 (Comm); [2026] Lloyd’s Rep IR 129.
The talk should be of interest both to those unfamiliar with insurance law – but who need, or want, a detailed refresher on the important (and sometimes legally fatal) issue of limitation – as well as those who already have specialist knowledge in the area.
