On Wednesday 23 September, Quentin Tannock will be speaking at the Commercial Litigation Association and Tech Dispute Network event: ‘Code, Copyright and Copyleft: Navigating Software and AI in a Changing Legal Landscape’.
The session will cover:
- Copyright in software: principles demonstrated through recent cases: subsistence, ownership and infringement;
- Trends in AI software development: implications of the integration of AI systems into software development pipelines: Intellectual Property, licensing, liability and data privacy; and
- Copyleft in practice: when using open-source code can impose obligations on developers and businesses and how easily software developers can cross the line without realising it; new risks created by modern coding practices, AI-assisted development and increasingly opaque software supply chains.
