The Telecommunications team at 4 Pump Court features many of the most highly rated and experienced barristers practising at the Bar.

We are recognised by our clients for our technical understanding of networks, whether wired or wireless, terrestrial or satellite-based, and our familiarity with underlying networking technologies at all levels of the stack from carrier to application layer. We understand how public and private communication systems operate, and appreciate both the commercial imperatives driving the mobile and fixed-line telecommunications sector and the regulatory constraints within which it operates.

Our Telecommunications work spans licensing and royalty disputes, termination rights and liabilities arising out of network consolidation, network infrastructure projects, semiconductors in networking equipment, outsourcing projects and hostile cyber-events. Regulatory aspects often form an integral part of these kinds of work.

Technology barristers at 4 Pump Court are instructed in international arbitration and in litigation by fixed and mobile network operators, global telecoms giants, owners of essential patents, software providers, chipset manufacturers and infrastructure and maintenance services companies.

Members of our Telecommunications team are able to provide cross-jurisdictional counsel across regions including China, Africa, the Middle East, the USA and mainland Europe.
