4 Pump Court hosted WEConnect’s fourth event of 2023 on 23 November. The panel event ‘Challenges and Solutions for the Energy Industry – Looking to the Future’ featured the winner and runner-up of WEConnect’s inaugural Competition for Junior Members.
The Panel was chaired by Rachel Ansell KC, 4 Pump Court and our speakers were:
- Lynne McCafferty KC, 4 Pump Court. Lynne looked at trends and challenges in the renewable energy industry
- Selina Pope, Freshfields (Winner of the WEConnect Competition). Selina examined the challenges (and possible solutions) to the large-scale deployment of carbon capture, use and storage (CCUS)
- Tessa Crosby, White & Case (Runner-up of the WEConnect Competition). Tessa discussed climate change risks for EPC Contractors and Employers: how can projects be future proofed against climate change, and what happens when such efforts fail?
