Alex Potts KC and Anna Hoffmann have been instructed to act pro bono for the LGBTQIA+ advocacy group Colours Caribbean, in its capacity as an intervener in the case of Ferguson and Others v United Kingdompending before the European Court of Human Rights.

Colours Caribbean has secured the ECtHR’s permission to intervene in the case, and Colours Caribbean filed its intervention submissions with the Court on 19 October 2023. The case concerns the revocation of the right to same-sex marriage in Bermuda, and it involves important considerations in relation to Article 12 (right to marry) and Article 14 (non-discrimination) of the ECHR, when read with Article 9 and Article 12. The matter is ongoing.
