“The Law of Artificial Intelligence” edited by Matthew Lavy of 4 Pump Court and Matt Hervey of Gowling WLG has been published this week.

The new title provides an essential overview for practitioners working with the law of artificial intelligence, covering how key areas of current civil and criminal law apply to artificial intelligence and examining emerging law specific to the use of artificial intelligence. The book also covers regulation, ethics and the use of AI within legal services and the administration of justice.

Chapters of the book have been contributed by specialists from the Bar, private practice and academia including an additional four barristers from 4 Pump Court.

Matthew Lavy and Iain Munro co-wrote chapter five on “Liability for Economic Harm”.
Laura Wright and Rebecca Keating co-wrote chapter six on “AI and Professional Liability”.
Quentin Tannock co-wrote chapter eight on “Data Protection and Privacy” with Rob Sumroy of Slaughter & May.
